Jungle, brings together soulful duo Tom McFarland and Josh Lloyd-Watson from West London, with their seven piece backing band. The collective soared to success in 2013, after signing to XL records which saw the release of their hit singles “Busy Earnin” and “Time”. Their success didn’t stop there, as their self titled debut album ‘Jungle’ received much critical acclaim in 2014 and saw the boys mercury prize nominated alongside playing sold out headline gigs at The Roundhouse, London. The modern soul collective return to Leeds, to headline Beacons Metro on Thursday 2nd November, alongside an incredible line up of Superorganism, Dornik and PAULi.

Super organism are transatlantic mysterious 8 piece supergroup made up of anonymous members. The group saw success when releasing their single “Something for your M.I.N.D” on SoundCloud this January, to quickly vanish from the site in quick succession sending the music world cuckoo. Their second single “Its All Good” premiered on Matt Wilkinson’s Beats 1 Show in May adding further to the mystery of the un-known supergroup.

Electronic soul artist Dornik is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Having worked for the likes of Jessie Ware, he shot to solo success back in 2013 with the release of this debut solo single “Something About You”, which brought together the sweet R&B sounds of Frank Ocean and Sampha to tantalise the ears. He has been unstoppable since then, with the release of singles such as “On My Mind” and “Drive”, which saw popular remix’s by Jungle themselves, the combination of Dornik’s smooth vocals and soulful production gave the modern UK R&B world much to talk about. If this wasn’t enough, his self-titled debut album was produced by Grammy winner and Kendrick, Rihanna and Kanye collaborator Pop Wansel, making us realise there is no wonder this man is sounding so damn good!

The mysterious PAULi. completes the bill, with a sparkling resume including collaborations with FKA Twigs, Sampha, Gorillaz and Jamie xx, he’s certainly a man to keep his eye on.

Friday 3rd November

Swedish electro pop giants Little Dragon are coming to Beacons Metro. The gig see’s Little Dragon come to Leeds as part of their 5th studio album ‘Season High’ tour. The album saw their follow-up to 2014’s Grammy-nominated ‘Nabuma Rubberband’, bringing a effortless fresh and innovative electropop record to their fans. The album only seemed to consolidate the band as veterans in the pop world, with Beacons Metro seeing them bring their polished live show from Coachella to Canal Mills. You do not wanna miss this!

The group will be joined by Com Truise, an American producer from New York. His use of synthesisers and accompanying visuals, immediately take you back to a time of VHS and exercise videos. His synth wave sounds were brought together with the release of his debut album ‘Galactic Melt’, which saw Com Truise’s work reach new heights, with remix’s featuring on the Tron:Legacy Reconfigured album soon after.

Pixx will join this electro-pop lineup, supplying the much needed indie-pop sound to the stage. The British singer’s debut album “An Age of Anxiety” has received much praise, bringing 21 year old Hannah Rodger’s creativity together into pure cliche-free electropop joy. The Brit School singer is bringing back 90s British Electronic and we can’t get enough of it!

Friday’s bill will be completed with Scottish Producer Makeness, who’s single ’14 drops’ bring together house and techno beats for a dance ready tune. Makeness’ work is driven by melodic bass-line and falsetto vocals, creating a wholesome sound to complete our day of electro-pop joy.

Saturday 4th November

Richard Cowie, AKA The godfather of grime, Wiley is coming to Leeds. The British MC, songwriter, musician, record producer and DJ shot to fame in the early 2000’s with white record’s ‘Eskimo” and his collective projects with crew, Roll Deep. Since arguably inventing the Grime genre in the early 00’s, Wiley has devoted his life to grime. His new 11th Studio album “Godfather” rumoured his last, is his most impressive in years. So with this information enough and grime now dominating British culture, you would be mad to miss this
show.

Nadia Rose, UK born rapper from Croydon released her debut EP Highly Flammable in January, 2017 following the successful singles ‘Station‘, ‘BOOM‘, and ‘D.F.W.T’. 2 years prior saw Rose working in a betting shop to make ends meet, whilst making studying for a degree. Known for her witty lyrics and don’t care attitude, saw her outshine her competitors to be chosen for BBC Sound of 2017 top 10. Now with a record deal at Sony and Killer Rhymes being played daily on Radio 1 and 1 Extra, her success is only set to grow!

67 are the rawest crew in UK rap. From South London, The collective is made up of rappers ASAP, LD, Dimzy, Monkey, SJ, and Liquez, each know for their distinctive ghostly flow. Their anthem “Take it There” and 'In Skengs We Trust’ mixtape only captured the attention of hip-hop fans everywhere, asking who are 67? Then like magic, 2016 saw their "Let's Lurk" track and video featuring rap lord Giggs saw them compared to the likes of Section Boys and has confirmed 67’s place in the British hip-hop world.
