It was a good festival but far to compete with others on the list. Take inspiration to improve future editions! Specially, considering the UK weather, having some dry spots with maybe a wooden floor like I've seen around other festivals would have improved the experience for many of us!

Toby look who's in the last shot 😎

No denying, the evidence is clear - ATG '17 was Festival of the year youtu.be/w0iSYtm4e_M

And So I Watch You From Afar released fourth full-length album, 'Heirs', on Sargent House in May 2015. The album marks the band’s return to recording as a four-piece with their now full- time member Niall Kennedy. They returned to work again with Rocky O’Reilly to record and mix the album in Belfast. It is their boldest statement yet; an album bursting with a positive vigor, that states a renewed case for a magnetizing band at its best.

ASIWYFA has built a legion of fans across the world by playing, thus far, over 700 amazing live shows. With unfalteringly great songs, their last album, 2013’s 'All Hail Bright Futures', earned the band its third-in-a-row Choice Music Prize nomination for Irish Album of The Year.

  1. Had a blast. I’m so broken now however. Number 12, Converge, Tricot, Boris and Nordic Giants were particular highlights.

Seeing Number 12 again tomorrow night 😂❤️

  2. Bossk were even better than the first two times I’ve seen them, Converge nicely smashed it and Donut porn is my new home m/

Also, Explosion in the Sky was amazing! I live in Austin, their hometown, and they have only played two shows in five years and I missed them. It was awesome to see them

Definitely the best festival I’ve been to so far. Very big thank you to the organisers, stewards, and bands!

Sleepmakeswaves were my stand out band of the weekend! Other than that Explosions, Converge, Gallops, Employed To Serve and Russian Circles all absolutely killed it 😄

Jambinai was stunning. Explosions; Russian Circles; nordic giant; sleepmakeswaves and God is an Astronaut were awesome too. But my ultimate highlight was LISTENER.

  10. Ho99o9, Tricot, Totorro, Gallops, Big Lad, Tall Ships and Explosions was an amazing way to finish it all. By far the best festival I’ve ever been to. It just all clicks together so well.

Highlights for me were Jardin de la Croix, Frontierer, Employed to Serve, Brutus, Ho99o9, and of course Explosions in the Sky. Ah there were a lot of highlights!

  17. Gallops, Nordic Giants, Totorro, Lost in Kiev, God is an Astronaut, Sikth and explosions were the highlights for me, but in all honesty there was pretty much always someone playing who I wanted to see, even at 11am. Top quality line up this year – nice job 👌

The Thursday this year was just incredible. Future of the Left, Nordic Giants and Russian Circles in a row… Converge were awesome on the Saturday too. I’m still bruised from Frontierer and I want more pad thai.

  20. Been to every single ATG so far and always have a great time – genuinely, thank you guys for putting it together. I don’t realise how lucky I am to have this festival within a day’s drive, until I see the comments section from overseas 🙂
However, I had some grumbles about this year. Jambinai were absolutely incredible, and I’d never heard them before – but the quiet bits were spoiled by people screaming “WOOOOOOOOOOO!” at the top of their voices, which sort of spoils the effect of the quiet bit in the song. It happened during Yndi Halda last year, too, and people decided they wanted to have a chat right in front of the Her Name Is Calla acoustic set – and it pees me off. I don’t know if this is just a British festival thing, or related to the bands are on, or what.
Also, considering the festival had sold out this year – the number of toilets seems to have roughly stayed the same. I know you guys were proud of your “best toilet” award a couple of years ago, and they were generally clean, but there weren’t that many of them!
The bigger the festival gets, the more rubbish there seems to be around the campsite, which is a real shame, but I guess there’s nothing you can do about that. It just feels like the festival is losing its great-place-to-be vibe as it grows. Or maybe it’s just me!
Finally, if you could sort out the weather so that it’s more like the first year, that’d be much appreciated. (Also, somewhere to sit undercover would be really nice – in the rain, all the tents were full and there wasn’t anywhere to stand except ankle-deep in mud and rain).
(Also, despite leaving early, we missed Waking Aida – who really deserve a better slot at the festival!)

Highlights for me were Boris, Converge, Russian Circles, Vasudeva and Totorro – Although to be honest I didn’t see a bad band all weekend! Arctangent sure know how to curate a line up. Roll on 2018…
