About Wireless Festival 2012

Established by LiveNation (who also run Download and Hyde Park Calling) in 2005, Wireless Festival started out as a series of four one-day events in London's Hyde Park, taking place over the same weekend as Glastonbury and into the following week. With no Glasto in 2006 the festival expanded to five days and also spread to Leeds for a two-day festival.

Both feature two to three stages of live music, featuring an eclectic range of performances from some of the hottest acts in music today, a crop of hot new talent, plus a few cheeky surprises from the past. Previous headliners have included New Order, Keane, Kasabian, Massive Attack, Basement Jaxx, Depeche Mode and The Strokes.

Organisers describe Wireless as a new evolution of festivals, adapted to the urban environment, whilst purists claim it is not a festival at all. Nevertheless, it has successfully blossomed into a major fixture on the UK?s festival map.
