About Wacken Rocks 2009 (Seaside)
Wacken Rocks was created as taster for the mother of all metal fests, Wacken Open Air.
The event has now grown into
a fully fledged festival of its own with the likes of Motorhead, Machine Head and Saxon all playing in the past. In 2009,
two stages will welcome over 25 metal bands for three days of thundering riffs and blast beats.
A metal market and
campsite will also be at hand for the thousands expected to flock to the seaside event, which will now take place in August
(instead of May) in the beautiful countryside outside of Aurich, NW Germany. The north sea is a few miles away for those who
fancy a dip.
Leer Hauptbanhof is the closest station with bus routes running to Aurich. Bremen International is the
nearest pan-European airport.
