V Festival was the first event to have two bills swapping between two sites after Pulp's Jarvis Cocker declared at V in 1995 that he'd love to perform at two outdoor venues in as many days. Today Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire share the line-up duties.

With the cash to splash the festival certainly pulls in some of music's biggest acts with Kanye West, The Killers and McFly all appearing last year but the two-dayer is mosre notable for its multi-genre contemporary bill.

Mainstream pop, rock and dance acts entertain the 75,000 revellers across four stages with a pinch of up-and-coming and unsigned artists thrown in for good measure. There is also a variety of food, drink and merchandise stalls onsite so fans can spend their shiny pennies over the weekend.

V Festival is also Heat magazine heaven with hoards of champagne sipping celebrities that turning up. So anoraks grab your cameras because V is renowned for having the longest guestlist in festival history!less
