About The Wickerman Festival 2005
One of the most isolated outdoor gatherings in the UK, The Wickerman Festival aims to recapture the spirit of adventure inherent
from days when the northern tribes would treck miles for social get-togethers with their peers.
Its mission is simple
- make sure everyone has a great time. The festival goers themselves, whether into northern soul, new metal, or ska bring
with them a bewildering mix of hair dos, get-ups and customs much like early settlements who evolved in isolation to the rest
of the world.
In a modern setting the festival may seem an anachronism when up against mass consumerism and the desire
to be the same. However, if you make the journey to The Wickerman you will meet an eclectic group of people determined to
enjoy a celebration of fun, fire and freedom.
