About Standon Calling 2010
Standon Calling has come some way since it began as a birthday party about 25 people, a BBQ and a swimming pool. The ferociously
independent festival is held in the grounds of a 16th century home in Hertford and it prides itself on its non-commercial
ethics, right down to the pricing of the bars.
The three-day party boasts an intimate and friendly atmosphere as well
as the first ever underwater dance arena in a swimming pool (yes really!). Dress code is always fancy dress so you can wear
whatever you like! Bring out the old clothes that don't go with anything from the back of the wardrobe and dress up as crazy
as you can!
Standon remains green wherever possible by sourcing local produce and actively promoting recycling and
if all that wasn't enough, the proceeds of the festival go to one local and one national charity each year.
