About Sonisphere 2009 (Netherlands)

Sonisphere is a brand spanking new series of metal festivals set to take Europe by storm this summer. 6 events, running through Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and Scandinavia will provide riffs and double bass drums in abundance to over 350,000 European festival goers.

Metallica are set to play all 6 festivals in 2009 with the likes of Slipknot, Lamb of God and Linkin Park making up the numbers in various countries.

The Dutch leg of the event will take place in the town of Nijmegen in the south of the country. The city's communal Goffertpark, a renowned open-air site, will play host to the affair.

Airport Weeze (20km away), Eindhoven and Amsterdam Schipol airports are all within easy reach of the city which is also well connected to all major destinations in the Netherlands by national rail.
