About Sonisphere 2009 (Finland)
Sonisphere is a brand spanking new series of metal festivals set to take Europe by storm this summer. 6 events, running through
Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and Scandinavia will provide riffs and double bass drums in abundance to over 350,000
European festival goers.
Metallica are set to play all 6 festivals in 2009 with the likes of Slipknot, Lamb of God
and Linkin Park making up the numbers in various countries.
The Finnish leg of the event takes place at the established
Kirjurinluoto Arena open-air venue in Pori, western Finland.
Domestic flights run from Pori Airport to the Finnish
capital Helsinki whose international airport provides many European travel links. Pori is also a stop on Finland's national
rail network.
