About Ruisrock Turku 2009
Ruisrock Turku is one of the old guard. Established in 1970 it is the oldest festival in Finland and one of the oldest in
Europe.
In true Finish spirit the festival leans toward the heavier side of rock but remains open-minded in booking
a number of artists, often accommodating for R&B and electro.
Nightwish, HIM and Primal Scream were among those headlining
last year while Disturbed, Calexico and Ladytron have already been confirmed for the festival's 2009.
The festival
is set in a scenic location on the shores of the North Sea and camping is available throughout the weekend together with a
number of hostels and hotels in the town of Turku itself.
Turku's airport provides links to Belgium, Denmark and Poland
while the city has rail links to Helsinki and other major Finish cities with further transport links to Europe.
