Spawned from a tiny blues festival back in 1974, the tiny village of Werchter in Belgium's heartland now boasts the country's ultimate rock extravaganza.

Rock Werchter is a four day festival with an international vibe that never fails to deliver an eclectic musical voyage for 70,000 that pass through the gates each day.

Radiohead played last year, highlighting the festival's green credentials, while the likes of JayZ, REM and 2ManyDJs also did their thing for the masses, taking things well into the early hours every day.

More than 60 acts can be expected once more for 2009, ensuring that the two stages don't get a moment to themselves.

Camping is available throughout the four days, although not included in the ticket price. Local bus and train travel is included in the ticket price.

Brussels is only a short train ride from the festival site. If you are coming from further away Brussels Midi train station provides a variety of links to neighbouring countries and the UK, while the city's airport is widely served from around Europe.
