About Optimus Alive! 2009
Also known simply as Alive! this quirky festival, with a distinctly 'green' ethos, has grown since its conception in 2007
to become one of Portugal's premier art & music extravaganzas.
Metallica and Slipknot are already on the bill for Alive!
2009 but don't be fooled by the metal credentials of these two as the festival always puts on an eclectic mix of genres and
names which have included Ben Harper, John Butler and Spiritualized.
When not bopping to the action which will unfold
over two stages punters can have a stroll around the many art instillations and sample the local food stalls including the
infamous portugese pastries. Delish!
Lisbon has a vast array of accommodation from budget hostels to luxury hotels
so take your pick. Algés train station is right next to the festival site which is connected to all of Lisbon's main rail
stations with links all over the country. For European air travel Lisbon Portela Airport is the one to go for.
