According to the organisers, tickets for the 9th V Festival are selling quicker than ever since the box office opened on Saturday morning.
The 9th annual V Festival takes place in Weston Park, Staffs and Hylands Park, Chelmsford on 21 & 22 August 2004, with headline performances from The Strokes, Dido, Muse and Pixies.
Festival Director, Bob Angus, commented, “We were confident that tickets would sell quickly. With a line up like The Strokes and Dido along with Muse and the reformed Pixies – who haven’t played together for over a decade – music lovers will want to be part of the action! We’re delighted to have beaten our previous sales records.”
Festival Director, Simon Moran, added, “V’s heritage has grown each year since launch at V’96, and as such it has become an essential part of the summer diary for festival-goers. So add that to the great venues and fantastic line-up of the headliners plus Kings of Leon, Massive Attack and N.E.R.D. What a winning formula!!”
V festival has always been the most eclectic and commercial major festival, and this year’s line up seems to maintain that tradition with the artists like Dido mixing in with the Primal Screams of this world. However, it is surely the presence of the Pixies that has accelerated ticket sales this year.
