U2 could ‘well be back’ at Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury organisers have suggested that they might reschedule U2's cancelled headline performance for 2011 or 2013.

The Irish rockers had to pull out of this year’s 40th anniversary event due to frontman Bono suffering a serious back injury.

Speaking to The Irish Post, Glastonbury organisers said: “They’ve never played here before and we’re very disappointed they can’t perform, but they could well be back next year or the year after that.”

The band have also cancelled 16 tour dates across North America due to the injury.

Gorillaz, fronted by former Blur vocalist Damon Albarn, will take their place this year, headlining the Pyramid Stage.

Glastonbury Festival 2010
will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset from 25-27 June.

Tickets for this year's event have sold out.
