Virtual Festivals has learnt that next weekend's Tribal Gathering event in Luton has been cancelled. The dance day was organised with the aim of raising money for the Sudan appeal.
The one-day dance festival was due to take place in Luton Hoo Estate on Saturday, 16 July, featuring Groove Armada Soundsystem, Zero 7, Plump DJs, Joey Negro, Infadels, DJ Yoda, and many more.
In a statement, a spokesman for the event said: “FOLLOWING RECENT EVENTS IN LONDON, HUGE SECURITY MEASURES WERE GOING TO HAVE TO BE PUT INTO ACTION, WHICH WOULD HAVE PUT AN EVEN GREATER FINANCIAL BURDEN ON THE EVENT. IT IS WITH THIS IN MIND THAT PLAYING ALIVE ARE FORCED TO CANCEL THE EVENT.
“IF YOU PURCHASED TICKETS FROM TICKETLINE YOU CAN EXCHANGE ONE TICKET FOR TWO TICKETS AT THE FORTHCOMING TRIBAL GATHERING WAREHOUSE PARTY, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE ENTITLED TO A FULL REFUND OF PURCHASE.”
