It is with great regret that due to drummer Neil Primrose's spinal injury, Travis must announce the cancellation of their forthcoming headline appearance at V2002 on the 17th and 18th August.
[r-zone1]Chemical Brothers will now move from their headline slot on the NME stage to replace Travis as V Stage headliners. V2002 have also lined up a very special act to head up the NME stage. This will be announced on August 2nd.
Festival Director, Bob Angus stated:
“Due to Neil’s accident earlier this month we have received confirmation from Travis management that sadly Travis will not be able to perform at V2002. We wish Neil well in his recovery.
We have acted quickly to rework the bill to ensure that V-goers will still get a fantastic line up. Following their hugely acclaimed performance at T In The Park in front of 55,000 people. Chemical Brothers have switched from their headline spot on the NME stage to headline the V Stage in place of Travis. We have also secured a huge act to join the bill headlining the NME stage, which we will announce on 2nd August. We are looking forward to yet another successful V festival and can’t wait to see everybody enjoying themselves.”
Travis have stated “Whilst we are hugely disappointed not be appearing at this years V2002 festival, we feel that under the circumstances it would be wholly inappropriate to replace Neil while he continues to recover.
After weeks of uncertainty, we are relieved to learn that Neil is expected to make a full recovery. We are sure Travis fans will agree that without Neil Primrose, Travis is incomplete.”
[l-zone5]Neil himself said, “I am feeling sad not to be able to play at this year’s big show. I would like to send lots of love and thanks to everyone for their recent messages of good will. The good news is, hopefully a full recovery can be achieved over the next few months.”
