A Tory aide was found dead at Glastonbury 2011 at around 9am this morning (Sunday).
Christopher Shale, chairman of West Oxfordshire Conservative Association, was discovered in a portable toilet in the VIP backstage area of the event.
Police are yet to release a verdict on the cause of death, but festival organiser Michael Eavis described it as a ‘suicide situtaion’.
Speaking at a press conference, Eavis said: “I’m told it was a suicide situation in the early hours of this morning. It was in the Winnebago area. It’s very very sad. I can’t say too much about it.”
Police have also confirmed that several of Shale’s close relatives were staying onsite and were being comforted after receiving the news, reports NME.
