The battle of the 'Rockumentaries' is nigh for 2009 with Spinal Tap and Anvil's films to be played in the Download campsite.
It has been revealed that The Tap are set to star at Download this summer, without actually being present.
Indeed, their 1984 hit 'This Is Spinal Tap' is down to play in a brand new indoor cinema as the Download campsite entertainment is revved up.
The film is out to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2009 and will be joined on screen by Anvil's opus 'Anvil! The Story of Anvil', whose DVD release is due for the summer.
Whilst Spinal Tap are only penciled in to play live at Wembley Arena and Glastonbury this year, punters will be able to catch their fellow veterans and documentary subjects Anvil on Donington's Tuborg Stage on the Saturday (13 June).
Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard will headline Download Festival 2009 which will take place at Donington Park, Castle Donington from 12-14 June.
On a green note, the festival has revealed that it will be keeping its cup deposit scheme and beer cans for recycling program for the 2009 edition.
It has also been revealed that further recylcling systems will be in place for all waste while punters can offset their travel impact by adding an extra 50p to their ticket order. This sum will go to local environmental projects.
Finally, for all you heroes out there, rock's best gaming export Guitar Hero is set to return to the festival in 2009, running nightly in The Bell Tent.
Passes for the festival are on sale now priced at £135 for a weekend camping pass. Day tickets and Guest Area passes are also on sale.
