The Strokes have once again been tipped by The Sun to headline this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals today (22 February).
In a short review of new album ‘Angles’, they conclude that “fans will still be waiting on ‘Last Nite’ when the band headline Reading and Leeds this year.”
It’s not the first time the paper has put the New Yorkers in the frame, having claimed back in November that they would be topping the bill, with a source saying “It’s no surprise that Reading and Leeds bosses want The Strokes to be the big headliner in 2011, given their reputation as a live act.”
An official line-up announcement is expected in March when tickets for both events will go on general sale.
Stay tuned to Virtual Festivals for all the latest rumours and announcement as and when they happen.
Reading Festival 2011 takes place at Little John’s Farm, Reading, while Leeds Festival 2011 will be at Bramham Park, Leeds, on August 26 – 28.
