The Dutch festival of Pinkpop have announced more acts for their 2014 line-up, including Arctic Monkeys and The Rolling Stones.
The Rolling Stones will continue their ‘14 ON FIRE‘ tour by headlining the first day of the festival in Landgraaf, The Netherlands. They were also confirmed today as headliners for the 13th edition of the one-day TW Classic Festival in the small village of Werchter, Rotselaar, Belgium on Saturday 28 June 2014.
These announcements precede further news of more major European shows for The Rolling Stones in May and June, which is expected over the next two weeks.
Celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, The Rolling Stones and Arctic Monkeys join Metallica in headlining the three day festival.
Mick Jagger said: “I love festivals in the summertime and can’t wait for the tour to get to Europe.” Keith Richards added: “Let’s keep this show on the road … the band are in top form so I’m really looking forward to getting back to Europe.”
The Rolling Stones headline the festival on Saturday June 7, joined by John Mayer, The Flogging Molly, Bastille, White Lies and Haim, amongst others.
Arctic Monkeys headline Sunday June 8, a day at the festival which will also feature Editors, Ed Sheeran, The Kooks, Limp Bizkit, Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifter.
Metallica headline the final day, Monday June 9, which will also feature Avenged Sevenfold, Biffy Clyro, Rob Zombie, Mastodon, Arcade Fire and Jake Bugg.
Since 1990, Pinkpop is written down in the Great Guinness Book of Records as the oldest uninterrupted annual pop festival in Europe and in 44 years has sold out 23 times.
Pinkpop 2014 will take place from 7-9 June at Evenemententerrein Megaland in the town of Landgraaf in the province of Limburg, Netherlands.
Pinkpop tickets will go on sale at www.ticketmaster.nl this coming Saturday, 15 March at 9AM GMT. Pinkpop tickets will be priced at 175 EUR plus a 5 EUR booking fee for a weekend with camping, 90 EUR plus a 5 EUR booking fee for a day ticket.
