The Police are the first headliners to be confirmed for next year's Isle Of Wight Festival.
The legendary three-piece will headline the Sunday night, following in the footsteps of The Rolling Stones who fulfilled the honour earlier this year.
Festival promoter John Giddings said: "It's a coup to get The Police for the Festival, we're very happy to have the biggest tour of the last two years stopping by the Isle of Wight."
The Police will return to tour Europe in 2008 and the Isle of Wight performance will be the only UK festival show for the trio.
The Isle of Wight Festival, voted Best Major Festival at this year's UK Festival Awards, takes place 13–15 June at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Tickets don’t go on general sale until 10 December but festival-goers can guarantee a ticket by taking advantage of the event's Festival First scheme.
The membership programme costs £75 to join and it gives fans the chance to buy tickets during an exclusive sales period before they go on general sale. Festival First members can take advantage of the exclusive sales period form 3 December until 8 December.
Weekend tickets will cost £130 with camping and £110 without camping. Children under 12 can get weekend camping tickets for £65 or pay £55 without camping. A weekend with a campervan will cost £250.
