The Killers clear up at UK Festival Awards

The Killers picked up two gongs at the UK Festival Awards winning Best Headliner and Best Rock Act

Thousands of festival fans voted for the Las Vegas band following headline performances at Glastonbury, V Festival and T In The Park.

Other award-winning artists on the night included Faithless, Arctic Monkeys, The Enemy and The Levellers.

The Killers are currently touring Australia so were unable to pick up their award first hand, so Rachel Hendry, head of press for their label Mercury Music, accepted the gong on their behalf.

Elsewhere, Arctic Monkeys were awarded Anthem Of The Summer for 'Fluorescent Adolescent' while Faithless picked up the prize for Best Dance Act following their breathtaking shows at Global Gathering and O2 Wireless Festival.

Best Pop Act went to McFly for their frenetic set at V Festival and The Levellers were voted Festival Feel Good Act after playing several festivals, including Wychwood, Bestival and their own event, Beautiful Days.

The Enemy were named Best Festival Newcomer, following a closely contested category that also saw Kate Nash and Pigeon Detectives finish strongly.

Snow Patrol and T In The Park were at the centre of the Most Memorable Festival Moment, after singer Gary Lightsbody helped coax down a Spiderman impersonator who'd scaled a 30ft speaker gantry during their headline set. 'Spiderman' himself made a special entrance to help T In The Park's Geoff Ellis pick up the award. More on that in the next few days…

The UK Festival Awards took place at London's KoKo last night (Tuesday).
