The Gossip will cap a remarkable year by headlining the John Peel Stage at this year's Glastonbury.
Beth Ditto and her band will close the new bands stage on one of the three nights, a band insider has revealed. Other acts rumoured for the arena include Hot Chip, Mumm Ra, The Maccabees and The Twang.
A number of artists have recently confirmed themselves for Glastonbury, the latest being The Cribs, The Coral, The Automatic and The Pipettes.
Calvin Harris has also just declared himself Worthy Farm bound, while Amy Winehouse is reported to be making two appearances at the festival, playing both the Pyramid and Jazzworld Stages on the opening day.
Pyramid Stage headliners are almost undoubtedly Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and The Who, with Bjork, Iggy and The Stooges and The Chemical Brothers likely to be topping the bill on the Other Stage.
Nothing is set in stone, of course, until the official announcement which will be made on 1 June. And organiser Emily Eavis recently revealed that there have been some changes at the top – could there be a last minute twist in the tail?
