The Devin Townsend Project have been confirmed as headliner for Damnation Festival 2011.

The group will close the Jagermeister Stage at the one-day indoor metal festival.

Fans will be able to enjoy performances from some of the top metal and rock  acts across three stages at Leeds University Union on 5 November.

Ulver, Godflesh and Decapitated have already confirmed appearances, as have Taiwanese black metal group Chthonic.

God Is An Astronaut, Altar of Plagues and Dragged Into Sunlight are also on the bill.

Canada’s Devin Townsend Project will treat festival-goers to songs from all four albums including ‘Ghost’, which was released in June this year.

The ex-Strapping Young Lad vocalist will also be performing at Bloodstock 2011, which takes place this weekend, as well as embarking on a tour of North America later this year.

Damnation Festival 2011 is billed as having the strongest line-up in its seven year history.

Festival director, Gavin McNally, said that the event boasted “some of the finest live metal acts around.”

Damnation Festival 2011 tickets are on sale now and can still be bought online, costing £29.
