A big chunk of the line-up was annonuced at last night's launch party in Glasgow. The Charlatans, The Datsuns, The Streets, The Coral and Supergrass are just a few of the acts joining previously announced REM and Coldplay on the bill.
Promotor Geoff Ellis says he reckons that this year’s T in the Park festival, which takes place on July 12 and 13, will draw the biggest crowd so far, exceeding last year’s record 52,000. He also stressed that extra security measures will be employed to avoid the sort of problems experienced at Leeds last year, particularly in the camp sites and toilet blocks. Once again, there will be a “no crowd-surfing” policy enforced, although the secondary barrier introduced last year will not be used this year, given the audience profile (Coldplay have yet to incite a riot!).
Weekend tickets cost £65 until April 13 and £70 after. Day tickets cost £38.50.
