US band Animal Collective have been confirmed as the latest addition to Barcelona's Sonar Festival.
The futuristic pop outfit are only due to make a handful of European appearences this summer, with their scheduled gig at the multimedia event set to be their only Spanish show.
They will be joining Grace Jones and Orbital who top the Sonar 2009 bill as well as a huge number of other high calibre artists which include Late of the Pier, Fever Ray, Deadmau5, Erol Alkan and more.
Sonar 2009 will take place across several venues in Barcelona, Spain from 18-20 June.
Tickets are already on sale priced at €125 for a three-day pass.
Sonar is Spain's annual progressive music and arts festival which runs for three-days showcasing cutting-edge technology, interactive exhibitions and emerging music.
During the day there is over 300 activities including concerts, films, installations and DJ sets before the event morphs into a Mediterranean Mecca for clubbers with a selection of DJs, VJs and shows that explore all of dance music's connotations across four simultaneous stages.
