Bloodstock Open Air have confirmed their third and final headline act for 2013 with the announcement of US metal titans Slayer.
Californian thrash-metal pioneers Slayer, considered one of the ‘Big Four’ thrash metal bands, have sold more than 45 million albums worldwide since releasing their debut album back in 1983. The band will headline the Sunday night of the festival on the Ronnie James Dio main stage, and they join previously announced King Diamond and Lamb Of God who play UK festival exclusive headline sets on Friday and Saturday night of the festival, respectively.
Guitarist Kerry King said: “Can’t wait to hit the stage at Bloodstock! Metal Festival in England? Fuck yes!! It’s going to be hell on earth and I’m looking forward to having a party with all my British friends.”
Slayer join on the line-up by another of the ‘Big Four’ bands, Anthrax, who have already been confirmed to perform on the bill. DevilDriver, Municipal Waste, Dark Funeral, Accept and Fozzy have also all been announced for the 2013 edition of the extreme music festival, which this year featured headline sets from Machine Head and Alice Cooper.
