Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Lyrix Organix have teamed up to collaborate on two unique venues at Glastonbury 2011 to raise awareness for MSF.
MSF Live Stage in the The Common will raise awareness of the work MSF did during the Haiti earthquake last year, with interative installations including an emergency operating theatre and cholera treatment centre. Designed by Missmanage (who curate Trash City) the venue will have live music acts and workshops. It’s run on a shoestring budget with the help of volunteers from from MSF field doctors and production crew to top graffiti artists.
Duzraeli and Cate Ferris will play an evening slot at MSF Live Stage on Thursday (June 23), Benjamin Leftwich Francis will play an early evening slot on Saturday and Ghostpoet will play one of the last slots in the early hours of Monday morning.
Alongside this MSF and Lyrix Organix will take over the big-top circus for Zona Bassline in The Common on Friday evening.
Ed Sheeran, Example and True Tiger will all play previously unannounced sets in the venue which is open from 10pm to 6am Friday 24.
Tickets to Glastonbury 2011 have sold out. Coldplay, U2 and Beyonce will headline the event in Somerset.
Virtual Festivals will be publishing live from the festival with news, pictures, interviews and videos. Keep up-to-date with everything going down on Worthy Farm and find the exact set times of the secret sets and much, much more by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
