Royksopp steal the show at Hartera

Royksopp put in a massive headline performance on Sunday, providing the perfect climax to a memorable Croatian weekend.

The Norwegian electro-wizards churned out a barnstorming set that included such hits as 'Remind Me' and 'So Easy' before popping on stage for no less than two encores.

With female vocalist in tow for live renditions of 'What Else Is There' and new opus 'The Girl And The Robot', the duo pumped the beats through the old paper factory as punters ran from all sides of the site to catch a glimpse of their heroes.

“Are you out there? So are we!” they cried before launching into 'Happy Up There', whipping the crowd into a frenzy, and head-banging themselves silly in emulation of the heaviest of metallers.

Electro and rock based, with a tumultuous mix of international and domestic artists the weekender lived up to expectations and more.

Simian Mobile Disco easily made punters forget about the absence of Klaxons, who cancelled their appearance last minute on the back of a throat infection.

Boys Noize also brought the house down from 4am on the Sunday, ushering in the sun-rise with his traditionally heavy beats.

An honorable mention must also go to local bands Let3, Kawasaki 3P, Elvis Jackson and Ramirez, who flew the Croatian flag high and proud, putting in some of the best sets of the weekend.

“Definitely go and see Let3”, said one local punter, “they love to get naked” and sure enough, with epic sing-along choruses about “slapping a cock on your forehead” (rough translation provided by an inebriated reveller) and a number of outrageous and rather revealing costumes, they delivered something entirely fitting to the great spirit that surrounded the event.
