Rolling Stones “definitely not playing” Glastonbury

Isle of Wight Festival boss John Giddings has said through his twitter feed "the rolling stones [sic] are DEFINITELY not playing glastonbury [sic]."

Giddings, who has been in charge of Isle of Wight Festival since it's re-launch in 2002, is their current booking manager.

The Rolling Stones also played the closing performance at the Isle of Wight Festival 2007.

Internet rumours have been rife that a 2011 Rolling Stones tour could point towards a Glastonbury headline slot and that the appearance of their Tongue and Lip Logo on a Pilton website linked them with a set at the festival in the town.
Jimmy Cliff, The Coral and Jessie J have all confirmed themselves for Glastonbury Festival 2011.
Beyonce, U2 and Rihanna are also among the acts rumoured to be performing.
