Rockwave announces first big names

Rockwave Festival, Greece's premier rock event, has announced its first big names for the summer.

British post-grungers Placebo are set to headline the main Terra Stage on the Saturday with Moby and Gogol Bordello also on the bill.

On the Sunday, Vegas quartet The Killers and soul sensation Duffy will be at hand to see out the weekend and usher in a slightly heavier start to the week.

The mighty Motley Crue are set to head-up the Terra stage on Monday which has been rebranded as the Cruefest Stage for the occasion.

Monster Magnet, Arch Enemy and Lauren Harris, daughter of Iron Maiden bassist Steve, will join the Crue whilst over on the Vibe Stage W.A.S.P and Voivod are confirmed to provide a further dose of riffs.

The fourth and final day of the festival will see Slipknot top the bill for another heavy session which will also include Mastodon.

Many more artists are yet to be announced for the festival which takes place at the Terra Vibe Park just outside Athens from 27 – 30 June.

Tickets are set on sale today with prices ranging from €45 to €120 for the many options available.
