The Road To V bands competition has been whittled down to six finalists.
After tearing the house down at The Great Escape and the deliberations of mentors Just Jack and The Charlatans, the final six starlets for this year's Road To V final are now known.
Emerging from the first of the semi finals, held in Brighton's Coalition venue, are Birmingham based, indie five-piece 51 Breaks and sweet, glittery pop outfit Jazica.
Punk-pop quintet Underline The Sky, who won the fan's vote prior to the Brighton semi-final, has also been picked to feature by the two mentors.
East london rock'n'roller, Bleech, and melodious Manc Paul Dixon have both come through the second semi-final with flying colours and will be joined in the final by welsh rockers The Last Republic.
The two winners, who will both go on to open V Festival 2009, will be voted for by the fans. Online booths will be re-opened on 15 June for one final battle. 12,000 votes were cast for the semi-finals.
Previous winners of the competition include The Young Knives, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Brightlights.The list for the finalists is as follows:
