Radiohead have been revealed as one of the headliners at this year's V Festival. A reliable source claims the Oxford rockers have finally agreed a deal for the two-legged August event.
The band are due to release the follow up to ‘Hail To The Thief’ at around the time V Festival takes place.
Rumours have been abound for some time that the stadium fillers were in negotiations to perform at the event, which unfolds over the weekend of 19-20 August.
Nothing has yet been officially confirmed by the festival, but a source this morning (Monday) disclosed that the band have ‘definitely been booked’.
Radiohead could well be on an exclusive deal, meaning they might be unable to play any other festival in England (but Scotland’s T in the Park often bypasses these restrictions).
They can expect to command sums of up to a million pounds to perform at the mighty V Festival, which has a reputation for securing massive headliners.
V Festival 2006 takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffs, on 19-20 August – with two mammoth bills swapping venues over the two days.
Other acts rumoured to be playing include James Blunt, The Who, Keane, and Razorlight.
