Phoenix excite Reading Festival 2010 crowd

Despite competition from Guns N' Roses, Phoenix managed to entice a few thousand fans for their penultimate NME/Radio 1 Stage set.

The crowd, as big as New Young Pony Club managed early afternoon, proved more energetic than earlier in the day as fans responded well to all songs during the 50-minute set.

'Lasso' proved to be an early favourite as the group gained more fans as the show progressed.

Crowds became restless, however as they waited for a very late Guns N' Roses to start on the main stage.

Reading Festival 2010 continues tomorrow with sets from Arcade Fire, The Libertines and many more…
