Pavement set to reform for Coachella?

Pavement may be the latest band set to reform for Coachella Festival.

Their former guitarist Scott Kannberg has hinted the band may follow in the footsteps of Rage Against The Machine and Pixies by reuniting for the Californian event.

Speaking to Loud And Quiet Kannberg said: "Coachella keep asking our booking agent but our booking agent's pretty strong. He's waiting for the right number, I think.

"2009 would be our 20-year anniversary too, so that'd be a good time to do it, but I think that's too soon, it might have to be pushed back later."

The last time Pavement played Coachella, singer Stephen Malkmus refused to sing during the band's performance.

Coachella 2009 will take place at Empire Polo Field, California from 17-19 April, but tickets are not yet on sale. Blur and The Killers are already rumoured for the event.
