New Order confirm T In The Park

The '80s dance pioneers will headline Stage 2 on the Saturday of the Scottish event, after T In The Park festival boss Geoff Ellis finally landed his favourite band!

The sold-out T In The Park 2005 takes place at Balado, Kinross, on 9-10 July, featuring among others Green Day, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, The Prodigy, Travis and The Killers.

New Order have been long sought by organisers. A spokesman said: “They will undoubtedly thrill the legendary Balado crowd with tracks both old and new, and never has the phrase ‘not to be missed’ meant so much!”

The band were awarded the accolade of ‘Godlike Geniuses’ for their extensive services to music at the NME Awards last week, and their live performance was a stunning highlight of the ceremony.

This spring sees the release of their eagerly awaited eighth studio album ‘Waiting for the Sirens Call’ featuring vocals from Scissor Sister‘s Ana Matronic.

More acts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. CLICK HERE for more info on T In The Park 2005.
