New Found Glory at Reading Festival 2011 - review. We want your reviews too!
Pop punk veterans New Found Glory have bought the sunshine with them as they play a lengthy set of teenage bedroom jams to a vocal Reading crowd, with the bags of endearing enthusiasm and sincerity welcome following a tough morning of rain.
Launching into a greatest hits set, the highly energetic throngs, mainly full of beaming 20-somethings, are treated to such gems as ‘Hit Or Miss” and covers of ‘Kiss Me’ by Sixpence None The Richer, and ‘Blitzkreig Bop’ by The Ramones.
Between songs, the band wax lyrical about how privileged they feel to be headlining a British festival, and despite them not actually being top of the tree, the feeling is definitely mutual. Today they prove exactly why they’re credited as blueprints to the entire genre.
