My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has stoked up the festival rumour mill once more, after he announced onstage on Saturday night (12 February) that they will headline a UK festival this summer.
As the band played the first night of their UK tour at Wembley Arena, the singer told the crowd to expect them back for a big festival date, though his bandmates then stepped in to prevent from revealing any more.
The band have long been rumoured to be one of the headliners for this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals.
They were widely believed to be taking one of the top spots there last year, with Mikey Way even tweeting "Reading/Leeds" before any bands were announced.
This was seemingly scuppered when sessions for new album ‘Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys’, eventually released in November last year, overran.
A formal announcement on the Reading and Leeds 2011 line-up will be made in March, when the remaining tickets will also go on sale.
Stay tuned to Virtual Festivals for all the latest rumours and announcements as and when they happen.
