Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros are among the latest names confirmed for the Electric Picnic 2011 line-up with new acts set to take to the shipwrecked Salty Dog stage as the countdown to the Irish festival begins.
With the full programme now released it is only a matter of weeks before revellers take over Stradbelly Estate in Dublin from 2-4 September.
Other acts set to appear include The Rubberbandits, Cajun Kings, The Mighty Stef, Prison Love, Maria Doyle Kennedy and the Plymouth-based Black Fridays.
Speaking about the stage, organisers said: “The faded red shipwreck, once a proud vessel of the seas, now lies in the woods at Stradbally in decadent retirement, lowering the tone and living the life of a strawberry-nosed ex-pat with a few bob, but not quite enough.
“Round the beginning of September each year, a large, raised stage—cut from the mid-section of the wreck—comes alive.”
Interpol, Arcade Fire and Pulp will headline the Electric Picnic line up with PJ Harvey, Jimmy Cliff, The Chemical Brothers, Underworld and Beirut set to play too.
Electric Picnic 2011 tickets are still available with weekend camping tickets and Sunday day tickets on sale now priced at EU240 for the weekend.
