Metallica to play The Black Album at Nova Rock

Metallica will play 'The Black Album' in full at Nova Rock 2012 festival, when they top the line-up.

The group will play their classic LP from start to finish as well as performing a number of hits from their other releases.

The band will also play the ‘The Black Album’ in full at Download 2012 in the UK and in homage, Ryan Duggleby re-accessed their self-titled LP to see how it stands up 22 years since it first hit the shelves.

Slayer, Machine Head and The Baseballs have also been confirmed for the Austrian event, which will return to Pannonia Fields II from 8-10 June.

Other acts announced include Within Temptation, Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Dimmu Borgir, Killswitch Engage and Opeth.

Trivium, Hatebreed, Schandmaul, Oomph and Lagwagon will appear also, along with August Burns Red, Devildriver and The Answer.

More acts are expected to be confirmed for the Nova Rock line-up in the the New Year.

Nova Rock 2012 tickets are on sale now priced at 122 euros for a three-day ticket.
