Manic Street Preachers brought the musical sunshine to the cloudy T In The Park 2011 arena this afternoon (Saturday).
Sticking to top guitar numbers like ‘You Stole The Sun’ and ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’, the recent ‘Postcards From A Young Man’ was the only track not to have appeared on their ‘Forever Delayed’ greatest hits album.
Ever glam, the Welsh rock legends adorned their sparkling stage with glitter ball statues and feather boas, with bassist and main man Nicky Wire looking as camp and chic as ever.
Praising the crowd, Wire noted that they had played the next one – ‘Motown Junk’ – at T back in 94, before some of the audience were even born.
“Be nice to Slash,” suggested James Dean Bradfield, before launching into one last classic with ‘A Design For Life’.
Manic Street Preachers played:
You Love Us
Your Love Alone Is Not Enough
(It’s Not War) Just the End of Love
Everything Must Go
You Stole The Sun From My Heart
If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next
Masses Against The Classes
