Make Poverty History at Glastonbury

This year there will be a 'Make Poverty History moment' at 4pm on the Saturday afternoon as everyone at the festival - from the stone circle to the Pyramid Stage - will be invited to join hands in support...

[r-zone1]From Thursday onwards there will be messages flashed on the Pyramid Stage screens with the exact time. If you’re going to be at Glastonbury, make sure you join this history-making moment! There are also many other ways you can help out at the festival:

.: Head down to the Control Arms music tent, listen to some great unsigned bands and sign up the Million Faces petition that calls for an international arms trade treaty.

.: Play the G8 coconut shy, and knock the message of Make Poverty History into the heads of the eight leaders of the richest countries in the world!

.: Look out for Make Poverty History campaigners, have a chinwag and sign up to the campaign.

[r-zone2].: Give a smile to an Oxfam steward (and buy them a drink!). Oxfam is providing 1,400 stewards for Glastonbury, and raising loads of cash at the same time.

And if you can’t make it down to Pilton…

.: Keep up-to-date with all the festival news, pics and reviews with the daily festival blog on Oxfam’s Generation Why music website.

.: Get yourself to the Make Poverty History G8 rally in Edinburgh. It will be awesome. And sign up to the Make Poverty History campaign while you’re at it.

.: Make plans to go to another festival! The Oxfam team will be at NASS, WOMAD, V, Carling Weekend, Bestival and loads more – and so will we!
