Machine Head and more for Sonisphere

Organisers have secured three UK exclusives for the first Sonisphere Festival.

Festival chiefs have booked the services of Machine Head, who will make the event their only British stop off at Knebworth House in August.

Avenged Sevenfold and Alice In Chains will also play exclusive shows, with the latter promoting their first new album in 13 years.

Other confirmations include retro rockers Thin Lizzy, who are famed for their glam hit 'The Boys Are Back In Town' and Texan group The Sword, who were handpicked by Metallica's James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.

Metallica and Linkin Park will headline the inaugural festival with support from Lamb Of God and Mastodon.

Sonisphere 2009
will take place at Knebworth House from 1-2 August.

Weekend camping tickets are on sale now priced at £157.50 (plus booking fee).
