Lou Reed has been confirmed for the Pohoda Festival 2012 line-up.
The Slovakian festival, which will celebrate its sixteenth edition this year, has recently added The Horrors, Caribou and Anna Calvi to the Pohoda 2012 line-up.
Speaking about the news, Michal Kascak, the head of the festival said: “The opening night on the main stage will be dedicated to Vaclav Havel. He was friends with Reed and he was something like an honorary member of The Plastics. It’s thanks to people like Vaclav Havel that free festivals like ours can exist; freedom cannot be taken for granted. We’re sure that this fusion will be an amazing celebration of freedom and Havel would love that.”
Two Door Cinema Club, Warpaint, Emiliana Torrini, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Gemma Hayes and The Victorian English Gentlemens Club will also perform in 2012.
Pohoda Festival 2012 will run from 5-7 July in Trencin, Slovakia.
