A British film that was shot at major European rock festivals, and features ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, will get its world premiere at Liverpool Sound City 2011.
‘Powder’, from the producers of ‘Awaydays’, stars Liam Boyle, Alfie Allen and Ralf Little in a rock n’ roll story, adapted from the 2000 book of the same name.
Also showing at the festival is ‘Beats of Freedom or How to Overthrow a Totalitarian Regime with the Use of a Homemade Amplifier’, a feature about the birth and evolution of rock music in Poland in the face of the communist regime.
A documentary about American tattooist, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins will also screen, titled ‘Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry’.
Passes for Liverpool Sound City 2011 are available now at £150 which grants holders access to all events, gigs, screenings and conferences.
As previously confirmed, Miles Kane, The View, Fucked Up and Cast are all set to perform at the festival.
