Leeds: License Appeal is Successful!

The Carling Weekend in Leeds is back on, at its usual venue - Temple Newsham Park - after organisers Mean Fiddler won their appeal, today, against the rejection of the event's license application, following local complaints.

[r-zone1]Mean Fiddler’s Managing Director, Melvin Benn, said in a statement, “This is obviously fantastic news for the festival and for the thousands of fans that have already bought the tickets and those that no doubt will rush to do so now. The confidence that the fans have shown in our ability to overturn what they also saw as a bizarre decision was very heartening and they and we can now look forward to a great weekend.”

[l-zone2]The festival will take place as planned from Friday August 23rd to Sunday August 25th, in conjunction with the Carling Weekend at Reading, and features an exclusive festival appearance from American legends Guns N’ Roses as well as appearances by The Prodigy, The Strokes, Foo Fighters and many more.
