Scottish indie band Kassidy have stepped in to replace Frightened Rabbit at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2011, which will take place at Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire from 5-6 August.

No reason has been given for Frightened Rabbit pulling out.

“When Frightened Rabbit had to pull out due to the offer of a tour in the US, we immediately thought of Kassidy,” said festival promoter Joe Gibbs. “They played Bella last year and went down a storm; since then they have sold out The Ironworks and lots of other venues, and we are really proud to be able to offer them their first major festival headline slot.”

Also added to the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival line up are Guillemots, Idlewild’s Roddy Woomble who headlines the Black Isle Brewery Grassroots Stage on the Saturday and Rachel Sermanni.

Other acts confirmed include Unicorn Kid, The Xcerts, King Charles, Ben Howard and Lucy Rose, Bronto Skylift and Raghu Dixit from Bangalore.

Today’s (Thursday) additions join headliners Texas and Deacon Blue along with Newton Faulkner, Frank Turner, Admiral Fallow, Dry the River and many more.
