This year's T In The Park Festival is set to be a guitar heavy affair with The Libertines joined by Kasabian and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds as the three bill topping headliners at the festival.
Kasabian, fresh from winning the Best British Band award at the NME Awards 2015, have been announced to headline the Friday night (July 10) of T In The Park 2015.
David Guetta, Sam Smith, Rudimental, Fatboy Slim, Hozier, Annie Mac, Hot Chip, The Wombats, Gorgon City, Duke Dumont, Jessie Ware and Fuse ODG have also been announced for the Friday, 10 July.
Avicii, The Script, Twin Atlantic, alt-J, George Ezra, Jessie J, Courteeners, The Vaccines, Labrinth, The Proclaimers, St. Vincent, Enter Shikari, Seasick Steve, Jungle, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott, Idlewild, Jess Glynne and Charli XCX join the Saturday line-up. They all join the bill topped by returning indie rock stars The Libertines, who were announced for the festival last month.
Finally, on Sunday 12 July, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will close the three day festival. His solo band will be joined on the Sunday by The Prodigy, Stereophonics, Jamie T, Paloma Faith, Above & Beyond, Alabama Shakes, Kodaline, Catfish & the Bottlemen, Clean Bandit, Oliver Heldens, Ella Henderson, Modest Mouse, James Bay, Years & Years and Peace.
T In The Park will this year make the 18 mile move from their former Balado site to the early 19th century Strathallan Castle, near Auchterarder, where it take up residence from Friday 10 – Sunday 12 July, 2015.
The move has proved controversial with some members of the local community, despite the fact the annual music festival is worth almost £15.4 million to the national economy.
Festival Director Geoff Ellis said: “This year is going to be a very special one for T in the Park as we make the beautiful grounds of Strathallan Castle our new home, and we’re thrilled that some of the biggest artists in the world will be joining us in this historic first year. We’re hugely excited to announce some big names for the festival today, including British rock legends The Libertines, Kasabian, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Stereophonics, huge global EDM superstars Avicii and David Guetta, and seminal dance acts Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy – it’s going to be some housewarming party.
“Every year, artists tell us that our audience is one of the most enthusiastic in the world, and that they love to play T in the Park because of the wonderful welcome they receive. We’d like to thank our incredible audience for making this festival so special, and we can’t wait to welcome you all to our beautiful new home.”
