Jet pull out of V festival

Following the death of John Cester, father to Jet's Nic and Chris, the band say they have taken the difficult decision to cancel their performance at this weekend's V Festival.

[r-zone1]Following the family tragedy earlier this week, Jet‘s management released a statement requesting that “during this dreadfully difficult time the privacy of Nic and Chris, and their family and friends, is respected.”

The band have already flown back home to Australia to attend Mr Cester’s funeral.

[l-zone2]Denis Desmond, V Festival organiser, said: “Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy extends to Nic, Chris and the Cester family.  It is regrettable that Jet will not be appearing but we and their fans will completely understand their decision.”

A V Festival spokesman confirmed that Jet will not be replaced. The band were due to play before Kings Of Leon on the NME Stage.

The V Festival takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire, this weekend (21-22 August).
