The people behind Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks are set to launch a new outdoor night featuring exclusive DJ sets from some of the biggest figures in electronic music.
We Are Rockstars (W.A.R.!) will take over the Rocks stage at both Ibiza Rocks 2012 and Mallorca Rocks 2012, with both nights launching on 8 June and running throughout the summer, until late September.
Example & DJ Wire, Major Lazer, Doorly and Magnetic Man have all signed up for both Ibiza and Mallorca already, and Skream & Benga will also play a set for Ibiza Rocks with MC Sgt. Pokes and singer Youngman.
Mallorca Rocks, meanwhile, will see two sets from Annie Mac, as well as another Skream & Benga set.
Zane Lowe and Mark Ronson will reprise their team-up from last year’s festival, with several appearances at both sites over the summer, including the opening party at Ibiza Rocks on 8 June.
“As soon as we walked off stage at Ibiza Rocks last year Mark and I knew we had to turn it into ‘something’,” Lowe said. “It’s too much fun. We are excited to be back out at the I and M for ‘W.A.R.’ this summer.”
Ronson agreed, saying: “Playing with Zane last summer got me so hype, this whole past year, I feel like I’ve been playing at only 79.3% when I’m by myself…get ready for 203.9% Ibiza.”
Example, who returns with DJ Wire for five shows across both Ibiza and Mallorca, including Mallorca Rocks’ opening night on 8 June, said: “Can’t wait to be back! They have those huge stages and soundsystems set up all summer at Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks hotels so it makes sense to be getting more use of them with numerous shows every week. I’m happy to oblige.”
After the first three weeks, We Are Rockstars will take place on Thursday nights at Mallorca Rocks, before moving to Ibiza Rocks the following night.
We Are Rockstars tickets are £30 each at both sites, with accommodation packages also available.
Prices start from £75 per person at the Ibiza Rocks Hostal and £111 per person at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, while Mallorca Rocks packages start from £88 per person at the Hostal and £91 per person at the Hotel.
A competition, with 2 resident DJ spots, one for each site, complete with full salary and accommodation for the summer is also now running here.
